in fourteen hundred and ninety-two.
These past two weeks Dallins class has been learning about Christopher Columbus and all the fun interesting things, like boats, oceans, pirates, sea life, discovery, explorers, etc., related to his coming to America. Each student was asked to make their own boat out of household items and then bring them in to set sail on a very fun day of learning, discovering, and exploring. They started the day out with a pirate expedition that took them throughout the school where they found loot that had been hidden just for them. Next they sailed their boats, played pin the treasure on the treasure map, tossed a parrot, and colored a pirate ship. Then they followed their treasure map to dig for hidden gold in the playground sand.
That sounds like so much fun. I don't remember doing things like that in school. What did he make his boat out of it's clear I can't tell what it is? I hope Julia's school does things to make learning fun and interseting.
ReplyDeleteWe made the boat out of a gallon apple juice bottle. I just cut it in half. It actually floated pretty good. Dallin had so much fun with it. I am sure that Julia is really going to LOVE school too!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Look like a great day of learning! p.s. How do you get the captions on your pictures?
ReplyDeleteBecky, I used photoshop to add text to my pictures. I think that a lot of photo editing software will do it too. So if you don't have photoshop, if you play around with whatever photo software that you have there will probably be an option somewhere to add text. I hope that helps :)
