No one ever told me before I became a mom how WONDERFUL nap time can be. It is one of my very favorite times of the day. Having the house quiet for a couple of hours is such a blessing. I think Heavenly Father invented nap time so that mothers wouldn’t go insane. Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids, but it is extraordinarily difficult to do certain things when they are awake.
For me, those two hours represent time for me to do my engineering job uninterrupted, time to do a little cleaning, time to think clearly, time to sneak a chocolate bar and not have to share it, and rarely even time to take a little nap myself.
But do you want to know another favorite time of day? Right when they get up. Mandy always gives me the biggest hug as though she has been away from me for ages. And Layton is the happiest baby you have ever seen. One of his smiles can turn a very bad day into the best day ever!
I'm singing Hilary Weeks' version of 'My Favorite Things' in my head..."Bed time and nap time and bed time and nap time. Bed time and nap time and bed time and nap time. Did I mention I love when the kids go to sleep? These are a few of my favorite things!" Too funny!
ReplyDeleteWhen are you going to order the books of your blog? These photos and daily tales are amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh, What happened to Mandy's pink shirt? Is that phase over?
ReplyDeleteMandy still loves her pink hoodie, but she is letting me convince her to branch out a little bit now :)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more....nap time is wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE nap time! I just wish my older two would still take naps, but those couple hours in the morning when Grady is in dreamland are my most productive...unless I nap, too! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh nap time, how I love thee. I love the chocolate bar comment, so true! Chocolate and nap time makes for happy mommies! Truly blessings from heaven!
