What Might Have Been

100_2017
I think one of the worst parts of losing someone that you love is thinking of what will no longer be.  No more snuggles with Granddaddy.

No more made up silly games.

No more stories read.

No more little smiles.

No more granddaddy laughter.

No more fun days with him at the farm.

No more faces lighting up when I tell my kids that we are going to see Granddaddy.  I sorrow as much for what my kids will be missing as much as I will miss my dad myself.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing your true feelings. Growing up without grandparents is such a difficult thing. On one hand its good because they don't know what they are missing. On the other hand its terrible because they don't know what they are missing. Remember to tell them stories of who their Granddaddy really was. It will help them to remember who he was and help them cherish their own memories. They will also use your memories as their own. I lost my Pap-Paw when I was just a little older than Dallin. Because of the things I have heard about him and the memories I do have of him I know he was one of the best men that walked the earth. Your children will feel the same about their Granddaddy. Thanks again for sharing your true emotions.

  3. I'm so sorry, Katheryn! As I read this post, I got a big lump in my throat. Thankfully, you have many beautiful pictures to remind your children of their wonderful Granddaddy and you can tell them stories so they will always remember him. We are praying for you and your family.

  4. As a parent who has kids with 4 great grandparents who love them. I can't even begin to think about what that must feel like. It is great to be strong but sometimes crying is the perfect thing to do. How great it is that you being the great photographer that you have so many of those perfect moments captured to help them cherish those moments just like you do.

  8. I am really glad that you plan to dedicate your blog to David for the next period of time. What a wonderful collection to keep and share in the next Jarvis Family Album 2010.
