This year we celebrated New Year’s Eve at home. Just us. And I loved it!
We started the evening with games! Twister:
Apples to Apples:
And Sorry:
Then after a traditional meal of Waffles (that is a tradition handed down from my Grandmother, Mama Doris) we headed outside for a few fireworks.
And some fun with sparklers:
Then we headed back inside for a New Year’s toast of sparkling grape juice!
And then the kids had their last hooray for 2011
and were in bed by 9:00. That’s my kind of New Year’s Eve :)
That is a good one!! And I love any tradition that involves waffles. :) Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of the sparklers you took where you can see how the kids were waving them around are cool! That's an amazing effect. And you will have to share your secret of getting your kids to bed by 9pm, especially on New Year's Eve! : )
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible family. You and Nathan are such fun parents and do so many exciting things with the kids. The kids are really well behaved...even Layton. I felt like a real Mema when I kept them for a few hours and it was really quite easy. This next 2012 is going to be fantastic!
