Sometimes Layton demands things and sometimes I don’t have time to respond. During those times he just takes matters into his own hands. Like when he was in the mood for an orange, or in this case a satsuma. So quite often I come across him doing some rather surprising things.
At lease he was very neat about it. No peelings on the floor. All carefully placed in a pile up on the countertop.
His determination was seriously intense.
Ah, the sweet fruits of his labor. Mmm were they good.
You know, I am always amazed at what he does. Then I take a second and think about it realize that it really isn’t all that amazing that an almost two year old can figure out how to peel a satsuma. In fact, it would be more surprising if he couldn’t. It is just that when I look at him, he is so tiny and still has such babyish features that it is like watching a 9 month do something like this, which really would be AMAZING.

He is super cute! And I am suprised as tiny as he is that he can peel an orange with his own two hands! I am very impressed! He has gotten so big! Love always, Britt :)
I am sitting here with Isaac looking at your pics. He said look he has a satsuma! Then we saw the chocolate picture! Isaac says I want some chocolate! and guess what so do I!!! I bet Layton was in heaven.
He is sooo cute! I am with you, he is amazing. I am impressed. I love the pile on the counter of orange peals.... good job teaching him to clean up. His wife will love you one day.
Plus, they will always be our "babies" so it seems crazy to see them doing big-kid things. I can imagine when he's 16... "Layton, you can't be driving a car; you just started walking yesterday!" =)
