I can’t believe I’m actually going to say this, but I HATE STAR WARS. It was almost painful to say it, but it’s true. But honestly when you are constantly bombarded with it in the form a PS3 video game, you might come to hate it just a tiny bit too.
Seriously, if Dallin’s not playing it, Nathan is playing. Then they play it together. Then Dallin plays it while Nathan is at work. Then Nathan plays after Dallin goes to bed. On and on and on and on. It has become my secret weapon of punishment where Dallin is concerned. During the week, he is limited to playing only two levels of the game (otherwise he would never do anything else). It is the greatest form of torture as far as he is concerned for his Star Wars game privileges to be revoked. His face pales. Lips tremble. Tears fall. Very pitiful.
And get this, when he’s not playing it on the PS3 he is forever humming the theme music and playing with his Star Wars Legos.
Do want to know what is really sick and sad? I’m actually considering getting him another little Star Wars Lego set for Valentines Day. I complain and complain and complain, and then I feed the hunger for more. I am just as ridiculous as they are!!!!!!! I think we may need a Star Wars intervention soon.

Will you let me know when the "star wars interventation" is? I would love to sign the Jammes family up for it. Aaron already has Harris in the works of a life long love with Star Wars. I am with you it drives me bonkers I feel for you. I really really do. You are a good mom who has a adorable little man.... that is way you feed the love and obession. He does look happy with his little Lego. It would be a tough call but I think Dallin's love for Star Wars might win out. Good luck! May the force be with you!
I love Star Wars! Then again, it is not a topic that comes up daily in our conversations. That might drive me crazy too. Curtis probably feels your pain more than I do. I'm sure he could use a break from hearing all about Ariel or Barbie!
I only like the old Star Wars. The new trilogy drives me bonkers. Mark will pick 3 movies to watch and then I get to choose (as if It's really my choice) and one option is ALWAYS a Star Wars movie. I always choose something other than Star Wars! I have obsessed cousins too. Its so weird. Boys are weird!
I feel your pain with the PS3 Games. In our house it's Indiana Jones Lego game. They willingly gave up the DS's over the summer and I thought we were on a great track...then Santa (Eric) thought they needed a PS3. Life for me has been a battle for chores and homework since. I have had to limit my kids (and husband) time on it:)
I have to admit that I don't REALLY hate Star Wars. I'm just so SICK of the constant bombardment of light sabers, wookies, rebel warriors, clones, and the force. Seriously, it is ridiculous!
Mama Doris calls that being "a fiend for punishment!" Your Big Pa used to make Mama Doris, David and myself read to him for hours on end until our throats got dry. We all said we hated it, but Mama kept buying more and more books. When I asked her why she replied,
" I guess I am just a fiend for punishment!" I would give anything to be forced to read to him again:)
my husband and boys are like that with the WII. I had to cut them off the other night for some good old fashioned board games and a round of 20 questions! it was a great night! but every once and while i sneak and get in a round of mario cart! (but you're right, it is a great weapon!)
Bless your little pea-pickin' heart! I'm not a Star Wars fan either...never have been. Everytime we went to A. Marlene's growing up it seemed all Joseph and Doug wanted to watch was Star Wars or Return of the Jedi...boring!
