School Party

On Thursday, Mandy, Layton, and I went to Dallin's Fall Party. Dallin made fun fall crafts, including a scary haunted house picture frame, and ate cupcakes. Layton hung out in the Snugli for most of the time, until Mrs. Allen requested a turn holding him. Just like Dallin, he liked her very much and surprisingly let her hold him for a very long time. Mandy was in awe of all the fun things going on around her. She used my camera to help me take pictures of all the kids in Dallin's class.

Then using Walmart's 1 hour photo, which was a bit of nightmare (I had to send the digital files to two different Walmarts just to get them printed), I got prints made of the kids and put the photos into their haunted house picture frames when I went back in on Friday for the second half of Dallin's party (gotta love a two day party!!). Luckily on Friday, I didn't have to drag Layton and Mandy with me as Nana was available to babysit. Keeping Mandy out of everything in such a fun and interesting classroom is not an easy task, so it made things much easier not having her and Layton there too.

On Friday they had a storybook character parade and everyone was asked to come dressed like someone from a book. Since Dallin's Halloween costume was Batman, whose character originated in a comic book, I figured it was ok to just let him wear that. All the teachers and even the principal got involved. The principal and vice-principal dressed up as the mother and father from T'was the Night Before Christmas and they were the grand marshalls of the parade. Dallin look so cute and happy walking around the bus loop waving at all the spectators. He thought that he was pretty special. And not to be a bragging mother or anything, but I think that he is pretty special too.
