Necessities

IMG_6333

Dallin brought home a little drawing project from school yesterday. The project is in the shape of a house and at the top it says “My Family Needs…”. There were four spaces for him to draw things that his family needs. The first thing was water. Makes sense. It really is a necessity. The next thing was money. Again, logical. Having money definitely allows you to purchase the things that you need. The third was a toilet. Indoor plumbing. Absolutely a necessity. The last item though was the one that kind of caught me off guard. The fourth thing he drew was a bottle of hand soap. Apparently our family cannot survive without hand soap. I say that sarcastically, but doesn’t all sarcasm have just a hint of truth associated with it. Honestly, I think I truly would be a little lost without hand soap and hand sanitizer. It might just be the thing that holds my sanity together in this crazy dirty world. How could I possibly function without the first step of my routine with my kids after we go or do anything? Our life just wouldn’t be the same without the phrase “everybody do clean hands” as I pass around the hand sanitizer and demonstrate how to rub it into every nook and cranny of my children’s adorable little hands as though they’ve never done it before. Ah, the wisdom of a 6 year old. It’s true, hand soap really is a necessity.

What a smart boy! I'm impressed that everything was so practical. I love that a toliet made the list of must haves. That one I have to say is my favorite! I love the picture of him playing at the park all red in the face from playing.
