Vacation Day 5–On Top on Mount Mitchell

We made a long drive and then a short walk (that’s my kind of hiking up a mountain) to the top of Mount Mitchell, the highest point east of the Mississippi.

Then after getting the evil eye from Layton,

and a cute pose from Mandy,

 

we took a short trail back down to the parking lot.

It was gorgeous!

Then we headed back to the rental house and spent the afternoon playing in the nearby creek.

Nathan got out there with them too.  He came pretty close to falling in a couple of times, but sadly he never actually did.

Now that would have made my day!  But even without it, I think it was a pretty awesome day!
