Talents

Dallin trying to teach Layton to walk. Isn't he a good big brother?

On the Sunday before last, in his primary class, Dallin had a lesson about talents. His teacher, Sister Clarkson, asked him what talents he and each of his family members had. She wrote them down and shared them with me:

Layton's talent: he can move around on the floor

Mandy's talent: she can dance

Dallin's talents: (he has the most talents of anyone) he can jump, he can do a flip, he can stand on one foot, he can skip, he can put his hands on the ground and put his feet in the air, and he can run really fast

Daddy's talents: he can pick people up, he can jump over fireworks, and he can drive

Mommy's talents: she doesn't have any, all she does is pretend that feeding Layton is a talent because that is what she does all day long

When Cassie told me this I laughed until I cried. Sometimes it really does seem like all I do is nurse Layton all day long. Speaking of crying, I think I hear Layton. I guess it's time for me to go practice my "pretend" talent!

Oh my goodness! That was such a darling post! I love how Dallin had so many talents... he is a talented guy! The talents he listed for his Dad were great too. (Jumping over fireworks) that's dangerous and could be scary! I love to hear what kids have to say. I might have to ask Maizie what kid of talents we have here in our family. I think the talent he list for you was so cute! Feeding a baby does take time, Practice, Patience and you have to be rigged up with the Right Equipment to use that talent. You are Talented in so many ways! Dallin just for to mention a few of them.
I love knowing I can get my Daily dose of the Jarvis goodness each day! You always have me smiling!

I can now say that I completely understand! Literally, our days seem to revolve around the next feeding! But I will have to tell Dallin that he is wrong about that not being a talent... these babies did not come to earth knowing how to nurse, we have to teach them! So, I think that nursing is definitely a "talent!" =)
