Mama Doris

IMG_8001

This is one elect lady!  She is not doing very well right now.  We think it may be getting close to time for her to go home.   I’m pretty sure she’ll have her congo bar recipe ready should there be any question of her status in heaven :)  But honestly, if there is anyone that I know that deserves the highest degree of glory, it is her.

She is the epitome of this passage of scripture:

Her price is far above rubies,… the heart of her husband doth safely trust in her…, she…worketh willingly with her hands,… she stretcheth out her her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy, …strength and honour are her clothing; she openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.  Her children arise up, and call her blessed; give her the fruit of her hands; and her own works praise her at the gates.

Oh how we love her and how blessed we feel to know her.  We are grateful for her example and will never be able to praise her enough.  We are ever so proud to be part of her family.

I love you girl! I love that passage that you quoted. How wonderful of a woman she most be to live up to that. I guess that she is one of the reasons that you are so fantastic! Let me know if I do anything. Babysit or make dinner.

Katheryn, I love your post. It is absolutely true! Aunt Doris is one elect lady and I feel so blessed to know her. I got to visit with her on Saturday, hold her hand, hug her and tell her I loved her. If it is her time to go, I pray it will be painless and a peaceful parting. Oh how we will miss her! Praying for her and your whole family...

Seriously, from the little bit I know about Mama Doris I totally agree. She seems like the kind of person you just hope you are like one day when you grow up! We'll keep your family in our prayers.

I've never met her, but I feel like I know her. You've spoken so many wonderful words about her over the years, that I can't help but to feel love and admiration for her. I echo Becky and Stacy, we'll be keeping your family in our prayers as well.
