Yay Dallin!
Dallin received the Principal’s award this last nine weeks.

I remember how good that felt as a kid, yay for Dallin! I guess that's like the old "Good Citizen" award?
No, they do a Good Citizen's award too. Students that get the Principal's award also have to be doing very well academically. It is kind of like a "Best All Around" award.
