One of my most favorite state parks ever! It is only 45 minutes from my hometown and it is so very cool!
Literally. The temperature inside the caverns stays between 62-65 degrees ALL YEAR LONG. Talk about the perfect excursion to escape the Florida heat!
Not to mention that is ridiculously beautiful.
I’ve seen these caverns many many times, yet the beauty of the formations never cease to amaze me.
It is so amazing what a little limestone and water can create.
One of the rules of the cavern is that you can’t touch any of the formations because the oils from you hands can make them stop growing. But they do have one special column that they allow everyone to touch and feel. It was very wet and smooth.
It was a great day for spelunking!

I've never been there, but it reminds me a lot of Linville Caverns in the NC mountains. Stuff like that is so neat - it's almost like you're on another planet.
Love seeing the family pic, You looks so happy! I really miss the Beach. WHat would I give to head with all of you to play in the sand and water, eat some food and catch up... AHH we miss our Jarvis friends! Your trip looks awesome!
Spelunking? What is that?
Spelunking is cave exploring.
We went somewhere like that when i was little in Virginia. It was incredible! but i was totally freaked. I think i'm tad claustropobic.Looks like you guys had a wonderful time!
Stacy - "Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?" must've been before your time because that is where I learned the word spelunking.
Kim - that is totally where I first heard that word too! How funny!
