You’ve been egged!–Faith in God for Girls

Last week at our little activity we read this talk from President Monson and then decided to follow his advice and do a tiny bit of service.  We thought about how hard the Bishop works for us and so decided to do something that would make his day sunny side up!

The girls very carefully crafted their eggs.  Some with thank-yous on them and some with little quotes from scriptures, songs, and talks.  Some of the quotes were:

“And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all which we give of him: That he lives!” (D&C 76:22)

“Consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness.” (Mosiah 2:41)

“I think when I read that sweet story of old, When Jesus was here among men, How he called little children like lambs to his fold; I should like to have been with him then.” (Children’s Songbook, pg. 56)

A few more were:

“Where love is there God is also. Where love is, we want to be. The happiness we feel when love has found us, ‘tis love we get when love we bring.”  (Children’s Songbook, pg. 139)

“Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God. He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come.” (The Living Christ)

“What does the Father ask of us? What do the scriptures say? Have faith, have hope, live like his Son, help other on their way.” (He Sent His Son, children’s songbook)

After prepping their eggs, they headed down to the bishop’s door and gave it a right good egging!
