Kings Mountain

On Saturday we were able to visit Kings Mountain National Military Park located in South Carolina right along the North Carolina border. The battle fought at Kings Mountain was a pivotal battle in changing the tide of the Revolutionary War. On the day that we visited, there were a few people there dressed in period clothes to help tell the story of this battle.
We were even given the opportunity to sign the Declaration of Independence with a quill pen. We also walked the battlefield trail, which had a number of monuments and information boards about the battle. Being there on the site that it happened made me appreciate how difficult this war really was. I am so grateful for those men that stood up for what they believed in and fought for the freedom of our country.
Having spent a year and a half in Ukraine, I really learned to love and appreciate all the amazing freedoms and blessings that we enjoy here in the United States. Heavenly Father truly created a "promised" land for us. I am so grateful to live here and to be able to raise my children here. I am so grateful to the men and women who continue to fight for our country today.

We like your pictures. We had so much fun with you last weekend. We were really sad when you had to go back home. We will play with you some more when we visit Florida soon.
