Camping at Fort Clinch

Also during Spring Break we did a little camping.  Did you know that camping is a SUPER popular thing to do at Spring Break?  Seriously, I had to look at 4 different State Parks before I could find one with an open camp site.  Luckily I got the very last available campsite at Fort Clinch.  And we were so very happy with it!  The kids  and I had never been to Fort Clinch.  It is such a cool place!
Our first activity – tour the fort!

They even had a couple of soldiers out there playing a little music and answering questions.

This particular fort never saw any action, which is why it is in such good condition.

We can’t go anywhere with at least one picture on the pot.  How cute is it that Layton tried to copy exactly what Nathan did?

These signs cracked me up.  Apparently the soldiers had to where a sign around the fort for whatever they may have gotten put in the brig for.

We had so much fun exploring it and seeing the gorgeous views from the ramparts.

After checking out our campsite, we decided to take a short walk to the beach for some kite flying.

Time to set up camp!

Dallin is our little pyro guy and loved getting to start the fire.

Fort Clinch is located at the point where the Amelia River meets the Atlantic Ocean.  At sunset we went down to the river to watch the sun go down.

The night we went was a very very cold night.  Especially for March in Florida.  But we knew it would be and wrapped up in sleeping bags and lots of extra blankets.

Mandy is so wrapped up you can’t even see her!

Love spending time with my family!

It looks like a cozy family outing. I loved the potty pictures. At first glance I thought Layton was Dallin.

Gorgeous! I know you're on a little photography hiatus, but the pic of Nathan and the kids where its dark and then light in the middle where they are, that would a GREAT place for engagement photos!! Looks like a great time, as usual. :)
