During this visit to the museum in the "Florida Habitat" exhibit the lady there let Dallin and Mandy feel the feathers from the different owls that they house there. One of the other volunteers there had a live possum. Dallin tried to feed it a grape, but I think he got a little scared of it and dropped the grape before the possum could eat it. But he still thought that it was cool.Dallin loves to tell knock knock jokes. They don't really make any sense, but he thinks that they are funny. And Mandy, not to be outdone, has to tell her own knock knock joke too. It sounds an awful lot like Dallin's, but then that is Mandy for you. She wants to do everything just like Dallin does it.
Layton loves to talk to Daddy. Daddy always seems to get the best smiles and squeals out of him.
My mom painted this picture of the Orlando Temple and it hangs in our living room. Mandy loves to sing the primary song "I Love to See the Temple", but she thinks that she can't sing it unless we are sitting in front of this picture so that everytime we sing "temple" in the song she can point to the picture. It really is funny how songs can influence children. Mandy is learning how to say prayer on her own. And in her prayer she always blesses the missionaries. Only she says it this way "Please bless the missionaries do". It took us a while to realize she was saying it that way because the last line of "I Hope They Call Me on a Mission" is "work as missionaries do".

Dallin is our firstborn in the wilderness. Well, that is if you can call Middleburg a wilderness. It is probably more like a suburb, but wouldn't it be great if he turned out to be like Lehi's firstborn in the wilderness. I can't imagine what it would be like to be the parent of a prophet, but then Lehi was a prophet himself so it probably wasn't that much a surprise that his son was too. I mean he already had one son that was a prophet, why not have second one too. Anyway, this post is really supposed to be about Dallin. He is quite the character. He loves the movie Cars. In fact the majority of toys that he owns and about half of his clothes have something to do with Lightning McQueen or one of the other Cars characters. Dallin turned 5 this month and is so excited to be a "big boy" now. Almost everything thing he talks about doing starts with "now that I am 5 I can...." Dallin also loves to play outside, he especially loves to ride his bike and play soccer in the back yard.
